The local area

Some pictures from around 'The Artist's Cottage estate'.
Beautiful views and the opportunity to enjoy all kind of country pursuits like fishing, shooting, hill walking, kayaking, canoeing, gorge walking, horseriding and last but not least skiing in the Cairngorm hills.

You can also visit whisky distilleries, whisky barrel making, or reindeer being fed in the wild. The local area has an abundance of wildlife like red , roe and sika deer, red squirrels, pine marten. There are osprey, red kite and buzzards, grouse and pheasants and for bird watching there are two RSPB reserves close by at Loch Ruthven and Loch Garten.

Shopping in the Capital of the Highlands, Inverness, theatre, museum cinema, pubs and clubs. There are often local festivals and traditional music concerts.
See if you can discover Nessie in Loch Ness, we believe she is still there and enjoy a boat trip on the loch.
View on the Monadhliath Mountains, Waterfall at Foyers, beach at Dores, the famous locks at Fort Augustus, part of the Caledonian Canal
etc. etc.
